In everyday use

This is a bottle for people who carry one every day rather than for the day it's needed. At 6.3 inches tall and 2.5 across it stands about the height of a takeaway cup, drops into a coat pocket or the side of a small bag, and sits in a car cup holder without wedging. There's no strap, no clip and no valve — a screw cap, a double-walled body, and nothing to work out. The titanium shell takes the marks a bag gives it and shows them as a patina rather than as damage, and the finish shifts with the light, so the one you own stops looking like everyone else's fairly quickly. Fill it at home, and it's still doing its job at four in the afternoon.

Why we chose it

Most insulated bottles are sized for the biggest day you might have, and then they live on a desk because they're too big to carry. We wanted the opposite: something small enough that it becomes a habit. This one is closer to a flask than a sports bottle, and that suits how most people actually drink through a day — a cup at a time, refilled when they pass a tap. The material is the other half of the appeal. Titanium gives a finish you can't get from steel, and it means a bottle this light doesn't feel flimsy in the hand, which is usually the compromise.
