AVORA Haven Hammock Chair
There is a particular hour in the afternoon when the only sensible thing to do is sit somewhere that moves slightly. No tree required, no beam to drill into — this one brings its own frame and stands wherever you put it.
In everyday use
The chair hangs from two points inside a curved steel arch, so the cotton folds into a U and takes the shape of whoever is in it rather than holding a fixed seat. It stands 63 inches tall over a 51 by 35 inch footprint, which fits a balcony corner or a spare wall indoors as easily as a patio. The seat sits 22 inches off the ground — high enough to get out of without effort. A pocket in the side of the sling takes a book or a phone, and there's a knotted fringe down both edges that moves when the chair does. Non-slip pads on the feet, and it's rated to 330 lb.

Curved U-shape frame
A single arched profile in powder-coated steel, with the chair hung from an eye-bolt at the top of each upright.
Cotton sling
The seat is cotton, hung on cotton rope at both sides.
A pocket in the side
One side of the sling has a pocket sewn into it for a book, a phone or a pair of glasses.
Tassel fringe
Knotted fringe runs down both sides and along the lower edge.
Non-slip feet
Pads on the base rails, so it stays put on decking or tile.
Why we chose it
Most hanging chairs come with a condition attached: find a beam, find a branch, drill something. This one arrives complete, and that changes where it can live — a corner of a balcony, a landing indoors, the shady end of a terrace, and somewhere else entirely next month. We chose it for the frame as much as the seat: the curve puts the hanging point directly over the middle of the chair, which is what stops it from swinging into the uprights. Cream cotton, a black arch, and nothing else going on.
