AVORA Fireside Adirondack Set
Two people, one chair, and no particular reason to get up. The Adirondack shape has always been about leaning back and staying put — this one is simply wide enough that you don't have to do it alone.
In everyday use
It's a single 45-inch seat with two backs, so you sit side by side rather than in separate chairs pushed together. The seat sits low at 13 inches with a slope to it and wide flat arms for a glass, which is the posture you settle into rather than perch on. Pull the two footstools up and they close the gap to make one long surface; leave them apart and they're seats for whoever turns up. The frame is galvanized steel wrapped in hand-woven brown PE rattan, with cream cushions on the seat, the stools and both backs. It comes flat and needs assembling.

Why we chose it
Most outdoor seating asks you to sit up. This asks the opposite, and it does it for two people at once, which is rarer than it should be — a loveseat that reclines like an Adirondack rather than a sofa that happens to be outside. We liked that the footstools aren't fixed: the same set is a pair of armchairs at four in the afternoon and a day-bed at nine in the evening. It's a piece that decides the shape of an evening, so it's worth getting right.
