Avora Explorer Tent
AVORA Explorer Tent
You get to the spot later than planned, the light is going, and nobody wants to spend the last of it reading instructions. Poles through sleeves, clips on, stakes in — and then you can go and look at the view.
In everyday use
This is a dome tent for the kind of trip where the car is nearby: a weekend by the water, a festival, a first night out with the kids. The two-person version gives you a 7 by 5 foot floor and packs down to a bag two feet long; the four-person is 9 by 7 with 58 inches of headroom, which is enough to sit up, change, and keep everyone's bags off the beds. Mesh on the door and the side windows, vents at the floor and skylights overhead, so it moves air on a warm night. There's a cable port low on one wall if you're running a light from a power bank, and two mesh pockets inside for the things you don't want to lose in the dark.
What sets it apart
Up in a few minutes
The supplier puts setup at three to five minutes with no tools. Simple dome frame, clear pole positions, composite clips onto the poles.
Air on every side
A mesh door, side windows, double-layer skylights and floor vents, so the airflow crosses the tent rather than sitting in it.
210T polyester with a waterproof coating
The fabric is 210T polyester with a waterproof coating and sealed seams, over a 110 g polyethylene groundsheet.
Seven stakes, six guy lines
Fiberglass poles with seven ground stakes and six guy ropes, so it can be pegged out properly rather than just stood up.
Somewhere to put things
Two mesh pockets on the inner wall and a tie-back for the door curtain.
Packs to one bag
The two-person tent weighs 5.8 lb and the four-person 8.71 lb, both into a single carry bag that fits in a trunk without argument.
Why we chose it
There's a size of tent that gets used and a size that gets talked about, and this is the first one. It's light enough that taking it isn't a decision, quick enough to put up that a spontaneous night out stays spontaneous, and honestly built — coated polyester, fiberglass poles, a proper bathtub floor and enough stakes and lines to hold it steady. We chose it as the tent you keep in the car through the summer rather than the one you plan an expedition around.
