Avora Expedition Table
AVORA Expedition Table
It closes like a case and opens into four feet of table. Carry it out by the handle, set the legs, and the pitch has somewhere to eat — or the garage has a workbench, or the hallway has somewhere to put the boxes down on moving day.
In everyday use
The top hinges down the middle and the legs fold inside, so folded it's a 60 by 60 centimetre slab just under three inches deep with a handle in the edge. Open, it's 120 by 60 — enough for four places or a full spread. The legs set at three heights: 55 cm for people sitting on the ground, 62 for camp chairs, 70 for standing and working. Each leg locks open, and a latch under the centre hinge holds the two halves flat. It weighs 10.41 lbs, which is a one-hand carry from the car.
What sets it apart
Folds to a case
60 × 60 × 7 cm closed, with a moulded handle set into the edge. It travels flat against the side of a boot.
Three heights
55, 62 and 70 cm — floor level, chair level and standing. One table covering three ways of sitting.
Centre latch
A metal catch under the hinge locks the halves together, so the top stays flat rather than flexing at the join.
Legs that lock
Each leg sets into a fixed position with a brace strut rather than resting on friction.
Aluminum frame
Extruded aluminum edging and tube legs around a wooden board top, at 4.72 kg all in.
Adjustable glides
Nylon feet screw in and out, which is how you level it on ground that isn't.
Why we chose it
Most folding tables are one height, and that height is wrong for at least half of what you do with them. Three settings is the whole argument for this one: the same table works on a groundsheet, in front of camp chairs, and as a standing bench in a garage. The rest is sound rather than clever — a real latch at the centre join, legs that lock rather than lean, and a case that closes with a handle. Ten pounds and one trip from the car.
Before you order: our supplier hasn't given us a load rating or told us what the board is made from, so we won't guess at either. The top is a wood-based board, and we'd treat it as one — bring it in rather than leave it out.
