Avora Ember Torch Light
AVORA Ember Torch Light
Dusk falls and the path is still there. A run of these down a border marks the edge of the lawn, the turn to the door, the way back from the fire — not floodlit, just warm and low, at about the height of the planting.
In everyday use
Push the stake in where you want it and that's the installation. There is no cable to run, no transformer, no socket to find. The solar panel sits in the top of the head, so it charges wherever it stands, and a toggle switch underneath turns it on and off by hand. Twelve LEDs behind a pierced pattern give a flickering amber glow — the light comes through the cut-outs rather than out of a lens, which is why it reads as a shape in the dark rather than a lamp. At 20 inches assembled it sits below the eye line, so it lights the ground and not you.
What sets it apart
No wiring at all
Solar panel in the head, stake at the base. Nothing to trench, plug in or route.
A pattern, not a lens
Scrollwork and slots cut through the housing, so the light breaks up into a flicker instead of a beam.
12 LEDs
A light bar inside the head rather than a single bulb, which is what spreads the glow across the whole cut-out pattern.
Three parts, one twist
Head, extension tube and stake. A rotary bayonet joins the head to the pole — no tools.
20 inches, knee height
Tall enough to clear low planting, short enough to stay under the eye line along a path.
Black when it's off
Matte black ABS with no gloss, so it disappears into a border in daylight.
Why we chose it
Path lighting usually asks for a decision you don't want to make: dig a cable in, or accept a row of glowing white pucks. This asks for neither. The pierced head is doing real work — it turns a flat LED into something with texture, which at twenty inches off the ground is the difference between marking a path and lighting one. We buy these in multiples because that is how they read best: a rhythm down an edge, not a single object.
Two things we can't tell you yet. Our supplier hasn't documented the battery, the run time or the weather rating for this light. Until they do, we won't put numbers against them, and we'd rather say that than print a figure we can't stand behind.
