Avora Summit Tent
AVORA Summit Tent
Two of you, one bag on wheels, and a bed with a door on it by the time the light goes. You sit up inside this one — it's a room, not a bag you crawl into.
In everyday use
You wheel it from the car to the pitch, unfold the cot, raise the shell over it and screw open the mat's nozzle. The mat fills itself while you do everything else. Because the whole thing stands clear of the ground on a folding frame, wet grass and uneven earth stop being part of the decision about where to pitch. Mesh windows run round all sides for the still afternoons, and the external cover goes over the top when the weather turns. Shoes live in the pocket slung under the cot, a lamp hangs from the hook in the roof, and the rest of your kit has somewhere to be. When you leave, it all packs into the rolling bag and goes in the trunk as one flat case.
What sets it apart
A cot, a tent, a cover and a mat
Four pieces that usually get bought separately arrive as one system, sized to work together and packed in one bag.
The mat inflates itself
Unscrew the nozzle counterclockwise and it fills in five to eight minutes with no pump, and there is a pillow already built into it.
Off the ground on a folding frame
The cot stands clear of damp, uneven earth, so the pitch you choose is about the view rather than about the drainage.
Mesh on every side
Ventilated windows all round move the air through on warm afternoons, and the removable external cover goes over them when it rains.
1500 mm cover for wet weather
The external cover is a PU-coated 1500 mm fabric and lifts off entirely when you don't need it.
A bag that rolls
The carrying bag takes the whole system, carries up to 55 lbs, and has wheels and handles so it crosses a car park on its own.
Places to put things
An interior hook takes a lantern and a pocket under the cot holds boots, which keeps the floor space clear in a tent this size.
Why we chose it
The gap this fills is a familiar one: you want to camp for a weekend without either sleeping on the floor or towing something. We liked that this arrives as a complete answer — the cot is sized to the tent, the mat is sized to the cot, and none of it needs a second trip to the car. The self-inflating mat is the detail that changes the evening most, because the last thing anyone wants after a drive is ten minutes on a foot pump. And it comes apart: the cot works on its own, and the tent will pitch on the ground with its moisture-proof floor when you'd rather be low.
