Avora Solar Floor Lamp
AVORA Solar Floor Lamp
The light comes on by itself. You didn't plan it, you were still outside, and the path to the door is suddenly marked. No cable, no switch to find in the dark, no evening where you meant to plug something in and never did.
In everyday use
Stand it where you want the edge of the evening drawn — beside a door, at the turn of a path, at the corner of a deck. The panel on top charges through the day, the sensor closes the circuit when the light drops, and it runs for up to eight hours on a full five-hour charge. Nothing to wire, so you can move it in the morning if you got the position wrong. Inside the woven body a frosted sleeve spreads the LEDs into a soft vertical band, and the open weave lets that light out through every gap, so it lights the ground around it rather than shining at you. There's a manual switch underneath if you'd rather it stayed off.
What sets it apart
Dusk to dawn, on its own
A light sensor turns it on when the sun goes and off when it comes back. There's no timer to set and nothing to remember.
Five hours in, eight hours out
A full charge takes five hours of sunlight and runs the lamp for up to eight.
Hand-woven PE rattan
The whole column is woven by hand over a steel frame in PE rattan, open enough to see the light through.
A frosted sleeve inside
A white diffuser column runs almost the full height, turning a cluster of LEDs into an even band of warm white.
Manual switch underneath
An ON/OFF switch sits on the underside of the top, so the lamp can be held off through the winter or while it charges up.
Nothing to install
It stands on its own plinth and needs no cable, no stake and no tools. Where you set it down is where it works.
Why we chose it
Solar garden lights usually look like solar garden lights — a stake, a plastic dome, a cool blue glow. We chose this one because it reads as a lantern first and a light second. The woven column has a proper shape to it, narrow at the foot and full through the middle, and it holds that shape whether it's lit or not, which matters for something that spends half its life switched off in daylight. Warm white was the other reason. It sits closer to a candle than a floodlight, and at 26.75 inches it lights the ground rather than the garden — the kind of light you notice only when it isn't there.
